Passage of HIV Organ Policy Equity Act, lifting the ban on use of organs from HIV-infected donors for use by HIV-infected recipients.
Updating of USPSTF guidelines for routine HIV screening from a “C” to an “A” making such testing a covered preventive service with no cost-sharing under the Affordable Care Act.
Updating of USPSTF guidelines for HCV screening giving a “Grade B” recommendation for HCV screening in persons at high risk for infection while now also including one-time screening for HCV infection in adults born between 1945 and 1965 making such testing a covered preventive service with no cost-sharing under the Affordable Care Act.
Inclusion of HIV and STD screening in women's preventive services that insurance plans are required to cover free of cost-sharing.
Repeal of HIV immigration and visitor ban.
Coverage of HIV testing for at-risk populations under Medicare.
Revision of the Department of Veterans Affairs regulations regarding HIV counseling and testing to reflect the CDC recommendations for routine HIV testing.
