  • HIVMA and RWMPC's Recommendations for Strengthening the National HIV/AIDS Strategy

HIVMA and the RWMPC developed recommendations for strengthening the access to care component of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) and its accompanying implementation plan.

    Key recommendations include:

    • Sustaining the state-of-the art HIV care system developed with Ryan White funding by developing reimbursement mechanisms that
    • Supporting comprehensive, coordinated medical home care
    • Reducing barriers to implementing routine HIV screening and linkage to care, including provider stigma
    • Supporting clinical training programs at Ryan White Part C grantee sites
    • Facilitating the Integration of the Ryan White Grantee HIV Medical Home Programs into the Reformed Health System
    • Ensuring that the three central goals of the NHAS become the guideposts for federal domestic HIV/AIDS-related research planning and that the national HIV/AIDS research agenda is coordinated across all federal agencies and research disciplines
