New Jersey HIV residency programs

IM Residency HIV Primary Care Track: In addition to traditional inpatient and ambulatory rotations, residents engage in longitudinal primary care of people with HIV in an 1,800-plus-patient Ryan White-funded clinic in urban New Jersey, attend HIV-focused didactics and conduct QA/QI research in co-morbid chronic conditions such as DM, HTN and CVD in people with HIV. Residents learn to provide care to a diverse community with a focus on social determinants of health and trauma-informed care. The practice also is the home of the Rutgers Transgender Care program, which is integrated into HIV care and prevention. The clinic is the main continuity care site as well for the ID fellows and provides addiction services to individuals with HIV and other infections associated with injection drug use.

Program Start: Interviews held August through October

Program Length: HIV clinical post-grad fellowship, 1 year; ID fellowship, 2 years; IM residency, HIV Primary Care Track, 3 years
