UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency Program
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center McKeesport offers a two-year training on HIV primary care embedded into its broad spectrum three-year family medicine program. This training track is open to residents from all three UPMC family medicine residencies in the Pittsburgh area. The track is a mixture of integrated care in the community health centers and training at the Pittsburgh AIDS Center for Treatment clinic, a Ryan White clinic based in the Division of Infectious Disease at UPMC serving over 1,500 patients with HIV. The track combines clinical experience, self-directed learning and monthly group didactic sessions reviewing core issues in the care of those with HIV. Track residents also serve as peer educators, delivering didactics to their co-residents and presenting at conferences throughout the region.
