The AETC program is a national network of leading HIV experts who provide locally based, tailored education, clinical consultation and technical assistance to health care professionals and health care organizations to integrate high-quality, comprehensive care for those with or affected by HIV. Fellow Immersion Training Program in Addiction Medicine
FIT is a four-day intensive, immersion training that equips incoming and current clinical subspecialty fellows with state-of-the-art skills and content to integrate addiction medicine into clinical research. HIV Online Provider Education
The HIV Online Provider Education program is a twice-monthly conference involving several hundred doctors and nurses in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and other parts of the world. It uses an internet conferencing platform for these live conferences. Each conference is also archived for later viewing. (Targeted audience: Clinical Fellows)
International Antiviral Society-USA
Continuing medical education live courses are the core activities of the International Antiviral Society–USA. Courses include annual one-day CME courses and half-day intensive workshops. The CME programs provide advanced-level courses that present balanced, timely, scientifically rigorous and clinically relevant information about HIV and other viral diseases. The activities are designed for physicians who are actively involved in viral diseases management. In these programs, didactic lectures provide state-of-the-art reviews of a particular topic. Case or “caselette” (case vignette) presentations use clinical models to explore selected topics and controversial or confusing issues in viral medicine. (Targeted audience: Clinical Fellows)
National HIV Curriculum
The National HIV Curriculum is a free, up-to-date educational resource for novice to expert clinicians to learn about HIV prevention, screening, diagnosis and ongoing treatment and care. Up to 83 free CME credits are available through lessons and board-review style questions. The site also offers a medications section, 18 clinical calculators and tools and a clinical challenges section. The curriculum is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration and developed by the University of Washington.
HCV Guidance: Recommendations for Testing, Managing and Treating Hepatitis C
To provide health care professionals with timely guidance as new therapies become available and are integrated into HCV regimens, IDSA and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases developed a web-based process for the rapid formulation and dissemination of evidence-based, expert-developed recommendations for hepatitis C management. Stanford HIV Drug Resistance Database
This curated database represents, stores and analyzes HIV drug resistance data. HIV care providers use HIVDB to help interpret genetically based HIV drug resistance tests to choose the most appropriate treatment for their patients. (Target audience: Clinical Fellows)
Center of Excellence for Transgender Health
The mission of the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health is to increase access to comprehensive, effective and affirming health care services for trans communities. The center combines the unique strengths and resources of a nationally renowned training and capacity-building institution, the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center, and an internationally recognized leader in HIV prevention research, the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, both of which are housed at the University of California San Francisco.
