Advocacy and representation
- HIVMA encourages a comprehensive response to HIV/AIDS in the U.S. through adequate funding for HIV research, prevention, care, treatment and provider training and resources
- HIVMA convenes the Ryan White Medical Providers Coalition to address critical policy and program issues that affect providers’ ability to deliver HIV care and treatment in communities across the country
- HIVMA advocates for prevention, treatment, criminal law and other policies that are grounded in science, including harm reduction programs, such as syringe access programs
- HIVMA is working to expand the capacity of the HIV medical workforce and address shortages of experienced HIV providers that could thwart access to lifesaving care for people with HIV
